ICB Courses

The ICB was established in 1931 with the aim of promoting bookkeeping qualifications and membership of an internationally recognised professional body.

The ICB conducts professional assessments for those persons who intend following a career in bookkeeping and accounting. The ICB qualifications are offered through Lemay's Training Centre which include a National Certificate Bookkeeping (NQF 3), Further Education and Training Certificate Bookkeeping (NQF 4), National Diploma Financial Accounting (NQF 5), National Diploma Financial Accounting (NQF 6) and a National Certificate Small Business Financial Management. Completion of any of these qualifications or skills programmes lead to professional membership of the ICB with designations awarded depending on what course of study has been followed. Learners intending following a career in Accounting are encouraged to commence their studies with the ICB’s Certification Programme.

The ICB has been accredited by Fasset as a Quality Assurance Partner (QAP) for the qualifications under the ICB's scope which enables the ICB to accredit Lemay's Training Centre to provide the tuition towards these registered qualifications.

Whilst the ICB is based in South Africa, assessments/examinations are conducted throughout southern Africa.

Finally it should be noted that the ICB is associated with two complementary organisations, namely the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) and the IAB, both based in the United Kingdom.
